    Lydia Panart

“I take inspiration from human experiences to create intimate reflections of life”

Lydia Panart is an award- winning artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She lived and studied in this artistic hub for three decades which has a significant impact on her appreciation and passion towards the arts and culture.

Inspired by the beauty of its European-influenced architecture, she studied at the National University of Buenos Aires, and graduated as an architect in 1991. Following her architectural practice, she developed her artistic career under the mentorship of Master Artist Kenneth Kemble, who brought to the Argentinean art scene the international movement known as Informalism. Her background and interest in Semiotics contributed to the progression of her painting from figurative to abstracted representations.

Panart is known for her thought-provoking abstract artworks created primarily with acrylics, which have been exhibited nationally and internationally including invitations to Biennales and Art Symposia.

Through her works, she reflects upon human experiences, her inner-self, her core values, and the responsibility towards a better self for a better world.

Timothy Warrington, International Confederation of Art Critiques, London, UK, wrote: “Philosophically speaking, this Canadian artist emphasizes the meditative, intellectual and meaningful result of her compositions, focusing on a conceptual implication, albeit exquisitely emotional…”

As a passionate educator, Panart has promoted the arts at many institutions including The McMichael Canadian Art Collection and the Art Gallery of Ontario. She also enjoys working with a variety of schools and corporations facilitating co-creating workshops.

Panart regularly donates her work to charitable art auctions for fundraising purposes. In 2016, she was nominated for TD Bank’s 2016 “10 Most Influential Hispanic Canadians”
