Watercolour Christmas Tree Card & Tag Workshop with CJ Shelton

Join resident Mill artist CJ Shelton for a delightful afternoon of getting in the holiday spirit by painting whimsical Christmas trees that can be used as cards or one-of-a-kind gift tags. 

Even if you have never painted before (and even if you have!) you will learn an easy process using masking fluid and the classic wet-on-wet watercolour technique to design a tree and “decorate” it with a variety of beautiful metallic inks. 

With these techniques no two trees are alike so you can experiment with different colour combinations to make a variety of tags. Or, choose your favourite and have it digitally reproduced on cards to send out your holiday greetings (please note that reproducing cards is not included in the workshop but CJ can advise on how to go about doing it). 

All materials are supplied but if you do have your own watercolours you are encouraged to bring them along. 

Enjoy some creative time in the cozy ambience of CJ’s studio before the holiday rush begins. 

This is an in-person workshop and limited to 5 participants. Please note that masks may be requested to be worn if Covid protocols are put in place again.
