Elders: Our Connection to Our Ancestors
- Wed Nov 15 - Sun Dec 03
Pond Gallery
This exhibit features the magnificent work of several Indigenous artists, each contributing three to five pieces that delve into the significance of our ties to the past through traditional teachings. Through their art, these talented individuals illuminate how these teachings profoundly shape the way Indigenous people perceive and interact with the complex realities of the 21st century.
The profound synergy between the work of these gifted artists and the ethos of the Pond Gallery, where creativity, nature, and tradition harmonize in a captivating historical setting, is nothing short of remarkable. The DCCRC is honored to present an exhibition that not only celebrates Indigenous artistry but also encapsulates the essence of our enduring connections with our ancestors.
In collaborating with the Alton Mill Art Centre, we can collectively foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous culture, further strengthen the bridge between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, and, most importantly, showcase the incredible talent and wisdom of Indigenous artists.
