The arts are springing to life at the Mill. Spring Awakening offers art lovers a chance to work hands-on with artists like never before with our mini-workshop series running both days of the May 5 & 6 weekend. Workshops are offered with individual pricing or pay for the day and save! Try your hand at the ancient art of encaustic, pottery, drawing, collage or silk painting. Jewellery-making workshops will also be offered all weekend in Gallery Gemma Jewellery. Drop in to make make a unique and elegant gift of a pair of earrings with a personal touch ‐ just in time for Mother’s Day!
Alton Mill artists invite you to see their collective show around the theme of Nesting. Works in oil, acrylic, encaustic, glass, pottery, photography and jewellery will be on display in the new Falls Gallery (studio 212).
The Alton Mill is thrilled to be hosting The Made of Wood Show now in it's 11th year. Works in wood can be seen in The Bartlett and Crimson Feather Galleries until May 13. Woodworking workshops and demonstrations will take place outdoors during the May 5 & 6 weekend in conjunction with Spring Awakening.
The Alton Mill Galleries will also be bursting with Arts life during Spring Awakening. Our newest addition, the Paul Morin Gallery, will host the works of painters Tim Murton and Rick Worthington in Grande Gardens & Petite Cafes. The Show runs from April 25 - May 21. Opening reception April 25 at 7pm.
Celebrate Mother's Day at the Mill! Bring Mom to the Alton Mill on Mother's Day and enjoy browsing through open artist studios, galleries and shops and take part in a hands-on workshops such as Andrea Bird's Give it a Whirl! and learn the ancient art of encaustic. Shaw's Creek Cafe is offering a special Mother's Day menu so that you can have a fantastic meal to top it off!
