A Look at Fire & Ice 2019
January 26, 2019
Thank you to everyone who braved the cold, and came out to the Alton Mill Arts Centre, to celebrate the 10th Annual Fire & Ice Festival on January 19 & 20 and play in the 10th Annual Millpond Hockey Classic. With frosty temperatures throughout the weekend, our festival goers found new ways to stay warm, bundling up in style, gathering around the fire, and staying active with sno-ga, millpond skating, and fat biking.
Local artist Brian Oates was the mastermind behind the incredible fire-breathing dragon that emerged from the nighttime fire sculpture, with a musical soundtrack curated by Paul Morin, and sponsored by Fireball Cinnamon Whisky. Thanks to Karen Briggs for sharing the photo of Brian's fire dragon seen here, on Facebook.

Photo & video competition results will be out in a few weeks, once a jury has examined all of the incredible submissions. Stay tuned!
Finally, the Fire & Ice Festival is not possible without the support of many artists, volunteers, sponsors, & community members - see you in 2020!
