About
With a 20+ year career in architecture, my role as an architect has been complemented by a personal passion and initiative for painting and photography. Over the past decade I have specifically developed a focus in oil and watercolour painting. My source of inspiration is undeniably tied to daily experiences in urban and rural landscapes, observations and interpretations, through the eyes of an architect. My current series of paintings are explorations of both the natural and manufactured environments. These environments directly translate into the work through multiple scales of experience and perception. Each painting considers order, geometry, space, materiality, texture, and light. As such, the paintings are intended to be experienced in different ways, from afar and up close, revealing every nuance of colour, texture, and light. We all live in a world where such scales of experience are omnipresent.
