"Capture The Burn" Photo Competition

Capture the Burn Photo Competition Rules: Bring your camera to the lighting ceremony Saturday Jan 25 at dusk and get ready to "Capture the Burn". Then submit your best photo of the event to our Facebook page or photos@altonmill.ca to be eligible to win either the People's Choice award for free use of the Millrace room for a party or special event, or the Jurors' Choice award for the free use of the Falls Gallery for displaying your own art exhibition.

The People's Choice Award will be given to the photo that gets the most Facebook "likes" so make sure to tell your friends to vote for your image!

The Juror's Choice Award is for serious photographers. To be eligible, a jury will select a 'short list' of outstanding images from the Facebook submissions and the selected photographers will be contacted and given the opportunity to submit a "Photo Essay" detailing the burn from start to finish. The photo essays will then be eligible for the grand prize: An art show in the Falls Gallery!
