New Studio Artists!
March 24, 2019
Earlier this month, two new artists moved into working studio spaces upstairs at the Alton Mill Arts Centre. Find Agata Wisniewski, an oil painter & the Gallery Co-ordinator for Headwaters Arts, in studio #209. Textile artist and wearable fashion designer Hildegarde Sausik is now next-door in studio #211.
Agata says she is "fascinated with illumination" and her paintings breathe light into spaces on a large scale; equine paintings and up-close florals that are reminiscent of Georgia O'Keeffe. Agata is hosting an opening in her space on Friday, March 29-Sunday, March 31, from 10am-5pm and is offering a special draw to win a free equine painting! Head over to her Instagram to see more.
Hildegarde is an accomplished fashion designer and her labels have been carried by many major department stores. Recently she has turned her attention to creating EcoDyed wearable art, and her roots as a textile artist. A collection of her wearable art pieces are available on the main floor of the Mill in Rare Threads, a fibre design and textile market.
Plan a trip to the Mill to meet these two very engaging artists (and Hildie's loyal canine companion Barclay!) and experience their artwork in person!
